The Italian techno visionary, Veerus, returns to Drumcode with another incredible work of art: Yard. Veerus has been a powerful addition to the label since his 2019 debut via the Hypnosis EP, and his dramatic musical renditions have been favorites of Adam Beyer to drop in all sorts of big sets ranging from Awakenings to Cercle.
Subsequently, Yard marks the artist’s fourth EP on Drumcode and his sound is proving to age like fine wine. As a whole the album is crisp, refined, and well rounded. The title track “Yard” introduces itself through an enveloping bassline, dynamic chords, and an atmosphere that straddles the line of classic and contemporary. “Bypass” is a far more subdued adventure, though it still features Drumcode’s signature booming bass and nostalgic remnants of old school European trance.
Finally, “Nobody” rounds out the EP with an energetic blend of electro synths and hi-hats that will undoubtedly hit differently when experienced at a festival.
