In September of 2021, EDM history was made. Experimental bass heavyweights Zeds Dead and GRiZ performed their first-ever b2b set at the renowned Goldrush Festival in Phoenix. On top of executing an unforgettable show, the two superstar artists debuted an unreleased collab that completely shocked their audience. As a result, this dubstep anthem has easily become the most fan-requested banger for both artists this year.
2022 has been a massive hotstreak for Zeds Dead. They quickly shot up the charts with electrifying releases like “Think Of You” with Blunts & Blondes and “The Machines” with Blanke. Additionally, they were at the helm of nationwide tour for their infectious Deadbeats label. Also having a killer year, electro-funk maestro and saxophone-yielding wizard GRiZ dropped his mesmerizing LP Chasing The Golden Hour 4. Complementing his constant stream of railbreaking collaborations, such as “Open Your Mind”, “Bass Music”, and “Funkonaut”, GRiZ plans on delivering spellbinding sets at Space Camp, 12 Days of GRiZMAS, and more this month.
Even though the two electronic sensations have some wild upcoming shows, nothing is more exciting than the release of their debut collab “Ecstasy of Soul”. Sharing the source of inspiration for the track, Zeds Dead explains, “we were doing a big back to back set in Arizona and wanted to create something super epic for the intro. We tossed around a few ideas and finally decided to try something with a version of the Good The Bad and the Ugly theme. Something about the Wild West and the new frontier seemed to be calling our name. GRiZ is the best and this was a lot of fun to work on, it brought us back to our old remixing days. We’ve been playing it at every show since and it’s gotten the most insane reactions. Stoked to finally put it out!”
Starting out with a tantalizing piano progression and the iconic song they forged this collab around, “Ecstasy of Soul” builds an unprecedented level of energy for its listeners. Taking its audience on a crazy adventure of emphatic drops and sequences of installer bass, this long-awaited single marks the beginning of the most dominating dubstep team up ever heard.
