Update: The 17-year-old boy from Woodbridge, VA., who was originally reported to be in critical conduction, was declared dead yesterday, August 3rd. The cause was determined to be a drug overdose, though, the exact details of his death are pending an autopsy and toxicology report from the Office of the State Medical Examiner.
This is the second fatality following the Mad Decent Block Party on Friday in Columbia, Maryland at the Merriweather Post Pavilion. Officials have also determined that the man who died on Saturday, Tyler Fox Viscardi, 20, of Raleigh, N.C., didn’t know the 17-year-old boy.

August 2nd, 2014 – CBSlocal.com, and many other news outlets, have reported that one death and 20 hospitalizations were recording at yesterday’s (Friday, August 1st, 2014) Mad Decent Block Party in Columbia, Maryland. The party was hosted at the Merriweather Post Pavilion with performances by household electronic names such as Sleigh Bells, Flux Pavilion, Wolfgang Gartner and Mad Decent front man, Diplo.
Howard County Police stated that Tyler Fox Viscardi, 20, of Raleigh, N.C., was rushed to a local hospital just after 9:00 P.M. on Friday. He was pronounced dead a shortly after and it appears this tragedy was drug-related, though, officials are still working to determine what type of drugs were in his system.
As previously mentioned there were reports of 20 hospitalizations – most of which were recorded as drug related- and one boy, a 17-year-old boy from Woodbridge, VA., was also taken to the local hospital. Officials have told CBS that he remains in critical condition.
50 citations were issued for under-age drinking at this event, with three arrests made. One police officer was assaulted and there were also recordings of domestic assault as well as possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
