Five years ago Justin Blau (3LAU) was just another college kid making mashups from his dorm at Washington University. He gained recognition in 2011 after his explosive mashups, “Girls Who Save The World” and “All Night Long”. Since then 3LAU has been producing hit songs and sky rocketing to the top of the scene. He’s performed at festivals including Ultra, Tomorrowworld, and EDC.
On April 8th 3LAU officially launched his non-for-profit label, Blume. The mission of this label is to “unite dance music listeners world-wide around philanthropic causes”. Blume recently teamed up with the non-profit organization, Pencils of Promise (POP). POP’s goal is to builds schools and increase educational opportunities in the developing world. However, this isn’t the first time 3LAU has worked with POP. Over the course of three years he has generated over $100,000 for the charity. In 2013 he traveled to Guatemala to visit the first school constructed with his donations. (see video below)
All proceeds generated from 3LAU’s new track ft Yeah Boy will be donated to POP. The soft track features a mix of deep house vibes fused together perfectly with straight funkiness. The new single spreads good vibes and will put you in the right mood to support 3LAU’s innovative label and partnership with Pencils of Promise. 3LAU’s goal is to build more schools and to raise an additional $100,000 for POP in 2016. Show some love and support POP along with 3LAU’s new track that can be purchased here.
