The sun is shining and we are well and truly in the midst of the summer season. June saw festivals like Junction 2 and Field Day hit London, but the season is not over yet: we’ve got two more months of stage-hopping, crowd-surfing and shuffling on grass ahead of us here in the UK. Here’s a breakdown of festivals to hit this month in the United Kingdom.
Farr Festival – 13 – 15 July, Hertfordshire
Farr Festival is arguably the best event in the UK to discover new artists and is the most relaxing festival experience, because of its location in an uninhabited forest in the middle of Hertfordshire. After seven years of operating, the organisers have fine tuned and perfected the event to bring you what it is today. The lineup consists of Norwegian house and nu-disco DJ Todd Terje, German duo Booka Shade and Brit musician Floating Points, plus many more.

Another festival that boasts a more relaxed atmosphere, this event will be hosting a range of different artists, varying from Eats Everything to Let’s Eat Grandma. A little larger than Farr Festival, this Cambridgeshire festival’s theme this year is ‘Sweet Dreams’, so make of that what you will. 2017 headliners include Metronomy, Crystal Fighters and Toots & The Maytals plus Example, Waze & Odyssey and Dusky.

MADE Festival – 29 July, Birmingham
Hosted in the UK’s second city, this Birmingham festival is one for the drum and bass lovers. Popular dance act Chase & Status will be headlining on the day after we hear from Gorgon City, Sub Focus, My Nu Leng and Chris Lorenzo. As a smaller event in the Digbeth Triangle, this festival is a good way to see some of your favourites in a more intimate setting and discover some you may not have heard of. Something for the urban crowd.
