There are a lot of artists to be thankful for as with any large festival as Moonrise. It’s not a camping festival. It’s not an art festival. It’s a music festival, and that’s what people come for. Look at the lineup below, and you understand:
Everyone has their favorite artists, everyone has their favorite genre that they’ll say is the BEST, and to each his own. So for us, check out our list of artists that we don’t won’t miss, and you should be sure to check out as well.
Anna Lunoe
The past two years have been a whirlwind of tours, festivals, and collaborations for Anna Lunoe. The last time we spoke with her in 2014, her popularity in the EDM realm in the States was really starting to take off. Ship2Ship with DESTRUCTO & MOTEZ, her own personal tours, and the big kicker being one of the first female solo artists (along with MIJA) this year to play the main stage at EDC Las Vegas; you could say that things have really taken off since then.
Recent collaborations with AC Slater, Tommy Trash, and T.E.E.D (also playing Moonrise) really show her diversity and creativity. You don’t want to miss her performance on Saturday where you’ll be sure to hear some of these hits below, and a hella more.
Lost Kings
We’ve been big fans of Robert Gainley and Nick Shanholtz for awhile. With our video interview that we did last year, or most recently highlighting them for the Billboard Hot 100 Festival in NY next month, we are hyped and so should you be for their performance at Moonrise. Check out their latest EP below and get ready.
KRNE
The collab sessions that KRNE has been coordinating caught our attention a few months ago. The flexibility and uniqueness of taking on the challenge of working with numerous producers across the entire EDM spectrum is commendable. Check out some of his session samples and get ready for one of the most unique sets of the festival.
Vanic
It’s Sunday, May 29th and we’re walking into Sunset Music Festival in Tampa. Sun is beating, and as soon as we walk in, from the right via the Horizon Stage, we are drawn to a great mix of vocal house music with all of the feels. In front of us we had Vanic. Now you may think that you’ve never heard of Vanic before, but with over 8.5 million plays on Soundcloud, we guarantee that you’ve heard this track at a festival or at a show:
Oh that melodic dubstep gets us every time. But he can get us with melodic trap just the same, and almost 19 million plays must mean that he’s doing something right:
Don’t miss out on a set that will stand out from all of the rest.
MIJA
This OWSLA artist has shown in the past two months that she’s not what everyone thinks she is. Yes, she does know how to throw down an awesome heavy electro house + trap set, but MIJA is far more than that. OWSLA Radio Episode 10 was from a performance of hers at Movement Festival showing that she is more than what people make her out to be. A pleasant surprise. Check out the set for yourself because you won’t be disappointed.
We saw this firsthand at Sunset Music Festival. A set that started off minimal, went to techno heaven, leveled the dance floor out with tech house, and then let loose into shuffle city. At this point, you can never be sure what you’ll get when you see MIJA play, but you know it’ll be great. Check out her most recent mixtape and get prepared.
