We touted 5 of the top underrated sets which might normally get overlooked amongst the slots of larger brands. These acts are WRR certified, so rest easy knowing that we’re giving you the goods and you know it’s real:
5. Michal Menert (Sunday)
The Rodney Dangerfield of EDM. Dude just can’t get the respect he deserves. Menert is one of the most talented producers in all of dance music. You are either shaking your head or cursing my previous statement to hell – if that’s the case, I dare you.
Sidenote: Menert is my favorite producer of them all. Possibly biased, but there’s no denying the things this guy can do with a little nature, some equipment and sexually good vibes. Unmatched.
4. Keys N’ Krates (Saturday)
Super high energy and different from your typical DJ performances. KNK do 808’s like no one else in dance music, with live instrumentation.
3. Blue Sky Black Death (Sunday)
The kicker and my pick for the weekend’s “golden nugget”. Blue Sky Black Death is of refined taste. Minimal style marked by deep experimental soul driven lush. Yes I said lush. Catch this set and call yourself a hipster for the next few days. Worthy trade.
2. Manic Focus (Saturday)
Yes he’s still underrated and yes we’re going to keep preaching the goodword. John McCarten is that cool side of your favorite pillow who also happens to create some of the best bass filled electro soul around. Live set is A league too, I’ve personally witnessed it.
1. Lotus (Sunday)
Maybe I’m out of touch here, but Lotus is still relatively low on recognition’s grand scale in my world. Not sure how or why though. This will be a live performance I can guarantee you’ll never forget.
Maybe they aren’t “underrated” but either way this is an absolute can’t miss.
