Located in the heart of our nation’s capital, Echostage is ranked worldwide as one of the best night clubs and music venues in existence. At 30,000+ sq. feet, it is the city’s largest space for live music events.
Owned by a group led by Panorama Productions and Club Glow, the focus of the venue is the layout, advanced LED capabilities, unobstructed views throughout, and of course, the top-tier sound design which is simply unmatched on the east coast.
Here are 6 shows this spring you should not miss at Echostage. We could have listed them all, but we know you have bills to pay, too.
1. W&W, Sunnery James & Ryan Marchiano
Heavy hitter Armin Van Buuren has called W&W ”the best up-and-coming production duo out there,’ and we happen to agree. Dutch duo W&W have a sound that appeals to a variety of ears. Their latest hit “Bigfoot” is going to sound incredible at this venue on March 1st. Axwell of Swedish House Mafia said after playing with them in Ibiza last year that “if there were a Dutch version of Swedish House Mafia, it would be Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano.” Their music speaks for itself. Don’t miss this one, seriously. Get tickets here!
2. Cut/Copy
The Australian quartet that is Cut/Copy brings a fresh sound to electronic music with an instrumental focus and an indietronica/ dance-punk vibe. They’ve been nominated for a number of awards including a Grammy for Best Dance/Electronica Release in 2012. They’ve played festivals like Camp Bisco and Virgin Mobile FreeFest as well as Ultra Music Festival. Add some new taste to your musical library – get your tickets for March 20th here.
3. Dash Berlin featuring Jonathan Mendelsohn
It wouldn’t be wrong to call Dash Berlin the biggest trance act in the world right now. He doesn’t have a ton of US tour dates, so don’t miss this one. Plus, he’ll have Jonathon Mendelsohn, an incredible vocalist featured on tracks like “Better Half of Me” and “Worlds Fall Apart”, with him. Dash recently played at A State Of Trance 650 in Utrecht and his set is unbelievable. Watch thing whole thing below, then click here to join the #trancefamily in D.C. on March 21st.
4. Excision with Dirtyphonics & ill.Gates
“I don’t think the whole mainstream stuff matters,” Excision said in a Reddit AMA. “It’s the natural progression of any music that becomes popular, you can’t fight it. Most people who hear it couldn’t care less what it is, or that it’s called Dubstep. The people who do hate on it for this reason are idiots. You can complain about the tide coming in or going out but it’s not going to change anything.”
We learned a lot about Excision in an exclusive interview. For example, when he was younger he wanted to be a paleontologist. Another one of my favorite interviews come from Dirtyphonics. They said that when they get on stage to play, they are at their own party. Last, but certainly not least, ill.Gates. We don’t need to say much – his music speaks for itself.
Steez Promo always throws down hard for their Mega events. Get your tickets here!
5. Above & Beyond
Calling all #TranceFamily members again: get ready for a an intensive #GroupTherapy session. Above & Beyond are the kings of emotional sets: no debates about it. The UK trio came to Echostage in August and a night of pure magic ensued. On March 28th they’ll be back for what is sure to be a night to remember.
6. Bingo Players
Early this year, Paul Baumer, one half of the Dutch duo, passed away after a year-long battle with cancer. His partner Maarten Hoogstraten announced that although a few shows were cancelled, the music would go on, as per Paul’s wishes. Our deepest sympathy is with Paul’s family, friends, and fans all over the world. We know that Maarten will put on a show that honors his counter part and truly exemplifies the fact that Bingo Players will always be plural. We’ll see you for a special night on March 29th.
As if the lineup, sound, and lights weren’t enough, Echostage also boasts two 60 ft. bars, VIP mezzanines over-looking the dance floor, and 30 bottle service tables. Artists are also often seen guest bartending after their sets.
