A-Trak, the esteemed turntablist, producer, and founder of Fool’s Gold Records, has linked up with Cadillac for a flamboyant new commercial to promote their 2015 ATS Coupe. In what seems to be an effort to appeal to a younger target market, Cadillac has stated that they are “paying homage to their heritage, and celebrating their rightful place in the soundtrack of the American Dream” in this advertisement. This glitzy video contains snippets of A-Trak working his turntables, with intermittent scenes of the sleek vehicle and a dolled-up model.
With electronic music becoming increasingly prominent in the eyes of the mainstream media, a slew of DJs and producers have been featured in various advertisements as of late, with some notable examples being Porter Robinson in an Apple commercial, Armin van Buuren for Heineken, and Zedd for Budweiser.
As Cadillac put it on their YouTube page, “watch and listen as DJ A-Trak takes us on a musical journey that culminates with the first glimpse of the all new ATS Coupe”:
