UPDATED 8/5/13
Above and Beyond have announced that they will play not only one, but two acoustic performances at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles this Fall. Previously they had revealed plans for an October 12th date and today the group added October 13th as well.
For this LA gig, Jono, Tony and Paavo will be playing a variety of live instruments including piano, guitar and cello, and will be joined on stage by an eight-piece band and vocalists including Zoe Johnston. The show will also be an exclusive opportunity to hear at least one brand new track from the next Above & Beyond artist album.
The Greek Theatre is one of “The Most Beautiful Outdoor Venues In America“, an open-aired space well-suited for such an occasion holding nearly 6,000 people. Here’s a quick look:
“When we first set off on our acoustic adventure, we never thought we would eventually be bringing the show to one of the most iconic open-air music venues in America. Performing under the stars at the Greek Theatre is going to be a very special experience for us and, we hope, for everyone who’s able to join us.”
Along with this announcement, A&B have released an acoustic preview of “Love Is Not Enough,” part of their studio album of newly arranged tracks set for release later this year.
Original Post
Yesterday via their social media accounts Above & Beyond told us that they had a very special announment in store for U.S. fans. The big hint was the “#ABAcousticUSA” hashtag.
Just a few moments ago they revealed that they will be playing a special one-off acoustic show in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 12th. Although I’m a little sad that the didn’t announce a tour, and that this show isn’t going to be in New York – since I live here and I’m selfish – I’m glad that they’re finally bringing their acoustic greatness to the states. Maybe they’re set up a short tour later this year. We can only hope.

From the official email release:
“We’re very excited to announce ‘Above & Beyond Acoustic’ in Los Angeles on Saturday October 12.
The acoustic shows at Porchester Hall were one of the most special and memorable experiences of our lives. They were originally intended to be a one-off, but we enjoyed them so much and were so taken aback by the response that we couldn’t resist the idea of taking it to America.
We can’t announce the venue just yet but it’s going to be somewhere very special and fitting.
