During their landmark celebration of 50 episodes of Group Therapy Radio (and 500 total radio shows, if you include their Trance Around The World broadcasts), Above & Beyond debuted five brand brand-new productions, none of which had been played during a live set before. These tracks, which included two remixes (Genix’s remix of the classic ‘Anjunabeach’ and A&B’s super-techy take on New Order’s ‘Blue Monday’) and three original tracks (heavy-hitting instrumental tracks ‘Mariana Trench’ and ‘ID,’ along with the vocal track ‘Sticky Fingers’) whipped the sold-out crowd at Alexandra Palace into an absolute frenzy and made an already perfect evening even better.
In addition to Above & Beyond’s amazing set, the other artists performing at ABGT050 had outstanding performances as well. Andrew Bayer’s set in particular was a masterpiece of artistic beauty, and Boom Jinx had an epic set as well.
All-in-all, ABGT050 was a resounding success. Over 25 million people tuned in worldwide, and #ABGT050 was the number one trending topic on Twitter during the event broadcast (the fourth year in a row this has happened), and all of Above & Beyond’s social media pages were overflowing with positive feedback about the event. But, as amazing as it was, we can’t help but look forward to what Above & Beyond has in store for us this time next year for ABGT100.
