Legends Adam Beyer and Green Velvet have teamed up with Drumcode protégé Layton Giordani on one of the most massive techno hits we’ve heard this year, Space Date. It’s no surprise that the two industry titans Adam Beyer and Green Velvet have had thoughts of a collab in the works for years, but it was Layton Giordani’s long-time admiration for the Chi-town king that fueled the fire to finally make it all happen. After playing alongside the green mohawked maven at Belfast’s Shine, sparks flew, a friendship was formed, and the stars aligned to bring all parties together to create a massive hit.
In the title-track “Space Date,” the all-star trio conjoins to craft a pumping intergalactic slice of techno, driven by Green Velvet’s trademark vocal hypnotism. We’ve been waiting for this one since the Chicagoan dropped it in his La La Land set at EDC Las Vegas, while others will recognize the melody from Adam Beyer’s sets at Awakenings and Ushuaia. The track is complimented by “Rome Future,” the product of a year-long series of productions between Adam Beyer and Layton Giordani that’s been a fan favorite during their sets in 2018. The track deftly combines crisp drum work, catchy vocal effects, and a powerful bassline melody to deliver an almighty kick and one killer of a tune.
