Modern techno favourite Adam Beyer has released yet another collaborative EP series called Capsule on his label Drumcode, showcasing his Nordic perfectionism effortlessly. This enigmatic Swedish artist worked with Spanish duo Pig&Dan, made up of Igor Tchkotoua and Dan Duncan, for a solid year to produce four very different, yet explosive tracks that are sure to carry Adam Beyer through his festival season all over the world.
With promos available on Beatport, title track ‘Capsule’ epitomises iconic Beyer dirty bass with throbbing techno beats, the perfect start to this creative and rhythmic EP and the most likely to become a Beyer dancefloor classic. Rough vocals are introduced in ‘In Love’ which are coupled with haunting, yet jazzy beats layered in an evocative way that herald a somewhat club feel in the way the track is positioned.
Beyer gets dirtier with ‘Atmosfear’ and uses musical tunnelling and echoing sound effects to achieve his desired effect of dread, but with a structured melody and of course, a kicking beat. Last but not least, ‘We Are E’ builds up the listener to a more ethnic sound, something Beyer likes to experiment with during his sets, but this track is definitely one that would work better at an Ibiza outdoor show or festival, rather than an intimate performance.
Pig&Dan celebrated last year with their number one hit ‘Growler’ and were featured on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode mix last year ‘Mexico’. 2016 was a big year for Adam Beyer which led to his being respected in the techno scene because of his musical landscape that truly encapsulates how he has single-handedly evolved the genre. Under Drumcode, Beyer is expected to kill it at London’s Junction 2 Festival this summer, in addition to some Ibiza dates that will set him up for yet another fantastic year in the underground techno arena.
