Adventure Club’s “Superheroes Anonymous 5: Road Trip Edition” hosts a slew of styles and travels in many different directions emotionally. This duo has become known for pushing some of the most talented young acts in the electronic music field – their SHA mixes are easily one of my favorite ways to find music. With that being said, I decide to break down their Road Trip Edition into fifteen tunes that stood at to me the most. Feel free to disagree and let me know which records you would have chosen.

15. A Day To Remember – If It Means A Lot To You
One thing that makes Adventure club unique is that they always manage to find ways to drop their favorite records in their sets, even if they aren’t electronic. In this mix they threw A Day To Remember, Fall Out Boy, Katy Perry and Ciara at us. I was surprised at their selections, but in typical fashion they worked them into this hour and fifteen minute long journey flawlessly.
14. Charlie Darker – Vulu
Charlie Darker is one of the most underrated producers in dance music. The guy makes incredible records and is extremely creative. I was stoked when I saw “Vulu” on the “Superheroes Anonymous 5: Road Trip Edition” tracklist. If you dig this track you should jump on Darker’s SoundCloud and check out “Guns For Hire” and “War Paint”.
13. Jhene Aiko – The Vapors ft. Vince Staples
I got hooked to every version of Jhene Aiko’s “The Vapors” after I heard Ricky Vaughn’s moombahton remix. Her vocals are passionate and the rendition that AC use in SHA5 boasts a few bars by Vince Staples. While this is by no means are party starting jam, it’s an amazing record to just kick back to.
12. Carnage – Bricks ft. Migos (Kayzo Remix)
Kayzo has been on a rampage lately with roughly four releases over the last two months. His output has been great and the quality of his productions lists him as one of our top up-and-comers of 2014. His cut of Carnage’s “Bricks” hits extremely hard and it’s no wonder why it has made it into this epic set.
11. Cashmere Cat – Wedding Bells (Lazerdisk Remix)
Cashmere Cat has been quite as of late, but that’s ok because Lazerdisk came through and reinvented “Wedding Bells” to hold us over. On their SoundCloud they say, “i love the original song and felt inspired to make a cover of it using old videogame sounds and kk slider, but it sort of turned into its own thing over the course of 3 days. so zack and i decided we’d put it out & here it is.”
10. Justin Timberlake – Blue Ocean Floor (Moiez Remix)
There are a lot of styles in “Superheroes Anonymous 5: Road Trip Edition,” but the mix wouldn’t be complete without a chilling progressive track. Moiez’ remix of Justin Timberlake’s “Blue Ocean Floor” hosts progressive elements as well as trance qualities that we’ve all come to love. Event though this record was released nine months ago, it strikes all the right chords and will be played for many months to come.
9. SirensCeol & Varien ft. Aloma Steele – Moonlight
Monstercat artists have been KILLING the release game lately. Every time I turn on my laptop I feel like I’m listening to another act on their roster. Over the last six months I’ve been extremely impressed with the styles they’ve been putting out. Varienm, SirensCeol and Aloma Steele’s “Moonlight” takes the melodic, trance-y dubstep route, similar to Seven Lions. It holds vibes from multiple genres and meshes them together effortlessly to create a four-minute roller-coaster of energy.
8. Wiwek – Salute
Musical Freedom signee, Wiwek, has a gigantic festival focused creation in “Salute”. The track not only hits hard, but has several vocal samples that are perfect for kicking off a party. Adventure Club slotted this track second in their mix and I feel that it has something to do with its earth-shattering kick and mind-scrambling drop.
7. Steve Angello, Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman – Payback (Havok Roth X Enzo Picardi X Party Thieves Remix)
Havok Roth, Enzo Picardi and Party Thieves are WhiteRaverRafting regulars. If you visit our site often you’ll surely run into all of their releases. When this dynamic trio came together to spin Steve Angello, Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman’s “Payback” I was trilled. Their cut has everything from the emotional melody of the original mix to solid trap components over a progressive template. I can’t believe that their rework only has 45,000 plays on their SoundCloud account combined… that number is far to low.
6. Ryan Hemsworth – One for Me ft. Tinashe
Ryan Hemsworth’s “One For Me” featuring Tinashe is simply put, beautiful. Tinashe vocals sit in front of the percussion and fill out the track smoothly. Also, the music video for this tune is interesting because you can interpret what happens in each scene in many different ways, leading to a different understandings based on personal views. Creativity at its finest.
5. Gesaffelstein – Hellifornia
“Hellifornia” is the sixth track off Gesaffelstein’s “Aleph” album which was released on October 28th, 2013. I think that “Aleph” was one of the most underrated albums of last year, it kind of slid under the radar for most people. Regardless, I was surprised to see “Hellifornia” on the “Superheroes Anonymous 5: Road Trip Edition” tracklist because it seemed a little dark for Adventure Club’s style. Though, in the end I’m impressed with how they worked it into their set.
4. Botnek – Through The Night / The Chainsmokers – Selfie (Botnek Remix)
Between “Through The Night” and their remix of The Chainsmokers’ “Selfie” I couldn’t decide which Botnek track stood out more. These guys have a knack for creating stellar remixes and originals, they never fail at blowing me away. Remember their “Animals” edit? Huge.
3. Bassnectar – You and Me ft. W Darling
“You and Me” may be my favorite record off of Bassnectar’s “Noise vs Beauty” album. The track hosts a vibe that is very different from what we’ve come to expect from the king of bass, yet he makes it work nicely and it fits his album perfectly. That alone was enough to slot “You and Me” as number three on this list.
2. Galantis – Revolution
Galantis is made up of Christian Karlsson of Miike Snow and Linus Eklow aka Style Of Eye. For a while it seemed like this duo had sat quietly on the sidelines, letting their new style speak for itself. Their self-titled EP was in my opinion one of the best releases of the year. It’s clear that Galantis have a long, bright road ahead of them. “Revolution” is just one of their most notable records, if you’re into it, check out “You” and “Smile” as well.
1. M83 – We Own The Sky
M83’s “We Own The Sky” was released back in 2008 and it’s still relevant in the scene today. It stands as my favorite selection in this installment of “Superheroes Anonymous” and I applaud Adventure Club for tossing this flavorful throwback in the mix.
