Late on this which was released a week or so ago, but Rhymesayers will inevitably always get their love on this blog. Aesop Rock is a New York native and underground hip hop boss who runs with the Minneapolis Rhymesayers crew these days.
This single ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ is just some vocal hype for his upcoming Skelethon LP due for release May 10th. You’ll recognize a couple elements in Aesop’s work: 1.) lyrical depth 2.) 90’s hip hop styles of production 3.) poetic lyrical ambiance (assonance, alliteration. etc.).
