Balancing the energy out with a some sweet and a dab out sour, Aezvl has produced a substantially catchy tune within “All My Own.” The Hong-Kong based Aezvl uses what feels like dozens of instrumentals and effects to make this journey come to life. From light bells at the intro, to glitchy synth-work midway, the sonic surprises dished out add to the allure of what this track packs in. Yet, one of the most captivating aspects is easily between the design of the drop and the moving vocal work. The story in the lyrics shares a ‘Lone Wolf,’ type-theme, confident but inescapably individualistic, the assurance with the self presented here segues nicely to the squeaky-clean production of the drop. Filled with roaring bassline juxtaposed by titillating melody, the drop and vocals work well with each other, each giving a chance for the other to breathe as the parts play off each other.
With this being Aezv’sl very first release under a fresh alias, the fact that it’s been signed to a label and conveys a strong level of talent generates some major green flags for the solo artist.
Signed to Esc. Records, “On My Own,” gives a positive impression from an originality standpoint with more surely to come.
