Afrojack is set to release “Its A Matter Of…” next week and we’re assuming, from his tweets, that it’s going to be a massive four track EP. The records on the bill include “Raybomb”, “Griever”, “Yubaba” and “Rocker”. We’ve known about “Rocker” for a while now but these other three tunes are fairly new to us. Aside from hearing clips of them in Nick’s “Its A Matter Of…” mini mix as well as in some recorded sets.
“Raybomb” brings back the old school Afrojack bleeps and builds. He allows for some space in the break and pulls the record together with a “Turn up the bass!” vocal sample. This is a classic summer bomb, mixing melodies and dirty synths.
This next record is a little darker, it’ll surely satisfy your craving for bass. On SoundCloud Afrojack urges listeners to listens to this record on big speakers or headphones. I just bumped “Griever” on my KRK’s and from the sound of it, this tune will make a huge impact in Nick’s sets.
Then we have “Yubaba”, I know I’ve heard many different version of this track when it was labeled as an ID in Nick’s sets. It follows the path of “Griever” in that it hits like a truck. The light, lingering vocals make this tune one of my favorites, even before it’s official release.
Finally we have “Rocker”, which many Afroheads have been talking about for sometime. Nick labels this as a “summertyoon” and I agree because most of his music reminds me of fresh summer vibes. Once again he brings back some calm vocal edits. Short of mixing the styles of “Yubaba” and “Griever” because this drop is also unforgettable.
