Wanna hear exclusive mixes from Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, Tritonal, Super8 & Tab, Gabriel & Dresden, Jaytech, and over 300 other DJs? Then bust out the headphones, clear your calendars, and send the kids to Grandma’s (if you have kids, that is); the End of Year Countdown has begun.
For the unaware, afterhours.fm is, as proclaimed by its operators, the “internet’s most listened to trance radio station”. At the conclusion of every year, they round up just about every name in the business and put on over 350 continuous hours of trance and progressive music.
(Click here for a high-res copy of the schedule to print out and mount on your wall. Subtract 6 hours for Eastern Standard Time.)
The countdown – which began yesterday and runs until January 1st – features mixes ranging from one to two hours in length by over three hundred DJs. Rest assured, if you enjoy trance, progressive, or pretty much anything with a four-on-the-floor beat, you’ll be able to turn on the countdown and enjoy yourself.

Since 350 hours of music is a little overwhelming, I’ve picked out a few sets you don’t want to miss. All times are in EST.
7 Skies (December 21, 1:00-2:00 pm) – One of the most under-the-radar talents on Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats label, the Italian producer is part of a 13-hour Anjuna takeover on the EOYC. Keep an ear open for Vision, a massive collab with Mike Koglin released this past Monday.
Armin van Buuren–>Myon & Shane 54–>Gabriel & Dresden (December 25, 2:00-5:00 pm, one hour each) – What a Christmas gift; the talent here is staggering. Expect to hear plenty of tracks off the A State of Trance 2012 Year Mix from Armin, Myon & Shane 54’s minimalistic “Redemption Mix” of Above & Beyond’s Alchemy, and hopefully plenty of classics from G&D.
Solarstone (December 27, 1:00-3:00 pm) – The established British DJ landed himself a cool two hours; here’s hoping he plays Heatbeat’s thumping remix of his classic “3rd Earth” (catch Heatbeat on the 26th from 5:00-6:00 pm if you’re dead set on hearing it either way).
Ferry Corsten (December 30, 2:00-3:00pm) – Another trance legend spinning another sure to be killer set. If it’s anything like his recent 6+ hour back-to-back set with Markus Schultz (who you can hear from 1:00-3:00 pm on the 28th) you won’t want to miss it.
