Alex Metric’s new EP Hope is scheduled to drop via OWSLA on April 22, 2014. The project, with LA based duo Oliver, is set to feature 3 disco inspired tracks. The lead song “Hope” was released 2 weeks ago and previewed what was sure to be an extremely original EP. The second song “Galaxy” was released on soundcloud last week and quickly grew popular among fans and funk-lovers over the weekend. It’s obvious how well the 3 producers worked together to make this have a true vintage disco feel.
The base of the song uses actual instruments and the electronic melodies on top sound like something you would hear at a disco dance in the 80’s, with very minimal echoing synth. The layering of effects on keyboard and guitar mix with robotic vocals and a nu disco character. Alex Metric & Oliver bring you into their magical Galaxy with this 7-minute journey.
