It’s no surprise Australian DJ and Producer Alison Wonderland sold out her first three shows of her Run tour, the North American Bus tour in lieu of her album Run. Between her history as a cellist and Indie Rock bass player, which shows in her music with an array of unique sounds, the recent partnership with Electric Family and beyondblue along with her humble approach to her sky rocketing success, its hard not to love her.
Run features vocals from Alison Wonderland herself and includes an array of other artists such as Brave, LIDO, Slumberjack and more.
The Run tour kicked off February 2nd with a sold out show at the Blue Note in Columbia, Missouri and continues down most of the east coast with an anticipated, early sold out, stop in Washington, DC on Valentines Day. Although the tour focuses on her new album don’t knock the idea of Alison Wonderland giving a unique performance with surprises thrown in such as unreleased music. If everything I’ve said so far isn’t enough of a reason to check out this show, granted you can snag tickets, the venue might be.
AW will be playing at U-street Music Hall, a top venue in DC that has shared their stage with names like, Duke Dumont, Shiba San, Eats Everything and more. U-streets dark lighting and 500- person capacity creates an intimate feel. Combine that with their state of the art sound system, court cushion dance floor and their unique U Street Music Foundation, a non-profit that works to support music education programs for Ward 1 and D.C. area youth, this venue will end up on your list of favorites.
Can’t make it to the D.C. show? Alison will be up and down the entire East Coast for her tour including shows in Texas and will end in San Francisco, CA. Full tour can be found here. With the rate of ticket sales and feedback from fans plastered all over Alison Wonderland’s Twitter page, this artist is definitely one to add to that bucket list of people to see.
