Amtrac has recently unveiled his most latest release, True Value, the second from his newly formed label OPENERS. This four track EP signals Amtrac’s next step forward in the electronic music scene but also retains his iconic and noteworthy sound.
The EP starts off with the pulsating and atmospheric ‘Accessorize’ which includes sharp synth stabs and rhythmic drums. ‘IDKILY’ and ‘Escalator’ get a little haunting with echoing melodies and sweeping tones, again, bringing back what we know and love about Amtrac.
The final track that seamlessly ends the EP ‘Some of Them’ get soulful and features the voice of MELI alongside bass lines and disco chords. This was first debuted at Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective’s two-day artist retreat earlier this year where both Amtrac and MELI were able to collaborate.
Described as one of Pete Tong’s Future Stars of 2017, Amtrac’s success has boomed, especially after the release of Lost In Motion, tours and the launch of his OPENERS imprint. This year also saw the release of his 1987 EP and a performance at Coachella’s Do Lab Stage.
