An-Ten-Nae‘s ‘Raindrops on Roses’ was by far the most pleasant surprise in my inbox this week. A momentous collective ranging from mellow downtempo ambient music transitioning to crunchier bass as the album develops. Trappy at times, the work is a bit more ambient and experimental as a whole. It’s slightly reminiscent of the distinct San Francisco Bay niche (he’s out of Oakland).
‘Shining Down on Me’ is my personal favorite. The combination of a drowned out fading vocal with the slow kickdrum/ snare pop creates a sexual environment that creates a sexual environment and tugs at the heartstrings a bit. Music meant for the moment. Trippy much?
