Rising Los Angeles-based DJ and producer Anakim joins the Mau5trap family with his recently released Heightened Sensitivity EP. This project is a compelling two-fold journey through his sound that he describes as intergalactic underground. Oozing with Cirez D-like vibes, the progressive house title-track drives you into a dark, interstellar space, prepping your sense for the b-side track “Ascension,” a hard-hitting techno stunner with a haunting atmosphere. While Anakim may be a new kid in the underground, his sound certainly demonstrates wisdom beyond his years.
The Icon Collective graduate said, “The concept of this EP has to do with spiritual awakening. A major stage in spiritual awakening is heightened sensitivity, where one may feel a bit more in tune with nature, see a oneness in all things,” and that the title track was his depiction of this concept. He then went on to explain how the b-side track “Ascension” is “the process of spiritual awakening that moves you into a higher level of consciousness.”
Anakim has released singles off of Artist Intelligence, Krafted Underground, Deer Dear Records, and Understated Recordings. He made his debut on the festival circuit this year at Coachella’s Yuma Tent and Holy Ship 9.0, while hosting a residency at the ever so popular Sound Night Club in LA.
