AndDrop! have released a funky, upbeat track “We Come In Peace” which fits into no particular genre. “We Come In Peace” is full of surprises: the build up has you expect a typical, energy-packed release, but AndDrop! take things in a different direction, transitioning to a more chill, deep house-influenced drop.
AndDrop!’s release shines light on the bigger picture of genre-hybrids in 2014, deep house, Melbourne bounce, and jam band sounds are just a few genres not just rising in popularity, but fusing rapidly as DJs experiment to find new, distinct sounds. “We Come In Peace” is a great example of what can be created when remaining open to innovation and experimentation.
