Anjunadeep released it’s fifth compilation yesterday and in a surprising move to some, it rapidly climbed the U.S. iTunes charts eventually reaching the #1 spot in the dance charts. Anjunadeep 05 is two discs, the first mixed by James Grant, Above & Beyond’s manager and the second by Jody Wisternoff.
If Anjunadeep 05 featured new music by Above & Beyond, the top album spot would be understandable but they don’t even show up on the compilation until halfway through CD 2. So how did a deep house, electronica and techno mix make it to #1?
Maybe it’s a testament to the rapidly evolving tastes of the electronic music consumer or because we all just crave anything Anjuna.
