When Los Angeles-based composer Anthony Sabatino isn’t working on freelance projects within the film, gaming, documentary, and web-series sectors, he spends time on his EDM persona, Moose with a Scarf. Moose with a Scarf is the leading producer in overly energetic, vaguely sarcastic, and nearly inaccessible electronic music. However, as technology has evolved, he has come out of hiding to roam the Earth and share his musical beats. Today, we’re here to share his new playful video, “I Am Moosebot,” which appropriately spotlights a Moose Robot DJ.
“About a year ago, I had the idea of creating a Robot DJ. Since I had never actually done much live DJ work, and I saw that hologram concerts were popular, I thought it could be a fun quirky concept,” shared Sabatino in a press statement. “Since my EDM name is Moose with a Scarf, I knew that inevitably the Robot DJ would need to be called Moosebot. And thus the idea was born.”
That Christmas, Sabatino bought a small programmable dancing robot and started producing its intro track, “I Am Moosebot,” during lockdown. He also learned how to program dance moves for the robot itself. The video highlights Sabatino waltzing around the Los Angeles area in his Moose gear before the Moose Robot gets down in front of a variety of trippy sceneries and visualizers. The single’s energy impressively stands on its own, as well. Its bass house sound design transports listeners to the center of an underground warehouse, ready for shuffling.
