Not content with a single release for 2018, skilled and talented production artist AObeats released his mixtape earlier this month. With plenty of tracks for fans and newcomers alike, Pilot is filled to the brim with genre-bending style that’ll entertain long-standing fans and further cement AObeats’ name in electronic music.
Interesting highlights include “Peanut Butter,” with Mark Johns and Robokid, combining elements of hip hop and dance with smooth vocals that pair exceptionally well. “The Wave,” featuring SATICA and SAKIMA, utilizes elements of groove and additional instruments, a single that sums up the spreading signature sound of AObeats.
Released via Moving Castle, there’s certainly a full-circle element that comes into play here between the mixtape, artist, and label, given AObeats history with the collective since the early days. It’s aesthetics like this that give a music experience that extra memorable spark.
