For the past week our favorite f*ck boi, APASHE, has been teasing us with tracks from his debut album, but today we are graced with the 11 track LP that could probably wake a coma patient. Bass lovers rejoice because the Kannibalen artist has brought you plenty more head banging, wubs to satisfy your wubbiest dreams, superb collaborations and 44 minutes of pure, unadulterated bass energy to your ears.
“Take Off” ft. Cherry Lena
You might have thought we’d save this gif for “Fire Inside,” but wrong. “Take Off” sets the tone for the entire album and gives the perfect sneak peak of what’s to come. Though it starts out easy it quickly drops into straight fire. Do you wanna fly? The deep chops and Cherry Lena’s sweet vocals ask a very important question because if you’re not ready, the very heavy and very wubby drop that soon approaches will have you feeling like our friend Elmo up there.
APASHE x Dabin x Kai Wachi “Kung Fu”
Baby Sifu, our RaverRafting Kung Fu master knows what’s up. With a black belt in bass music APASHE’s “Kung Fu” not only brings you one of two favorite instruments to incorporate into his music with an ominous intro of drums but brings the signature sound of Kai and Dabin into the mix. I love this track because it transfers between Kai and John’s rougher edge into Dabin’s melodic compilation of instruments that makes this artist a pure genius. What happens when you put three great minds together? Kung Fu happens.
“Bad Queens” ft. Gabriella Hook
We had to go with Dr. Steve Brule. Insert favorite APASHE instrument number two. If you’ve been listening to this artist for a while you know the trumpet is a recurring instrument within his productions. While several of the tracks feature this brassy addition, “Bad Queens” is a favorite and makes us want to dance. Gabriella’s sassy vocals send us into a day dream of imagining we’re all Queen Bey.
Puttin on the Ritz” ft. Zitaa
APASHE could probably pass as the Henry Fonda of bass music and “Puttin on the Ritz” makes me want to put on my $20 fresh water pearls, a feathery headband and jump into one of the Great Gatsby’s parties. I instantly knew this would be my favorite. APASHE brings back that jazzy roaring 20’s sound he graced us with in the collaboration on Black Tiger Sex Machine’s LP with “Swing High” and added the perfect electronic mix to give us a meld of throwback and 2016.
Common side effects after “Touch Down” ft. Wasiu
We know APASHE loves incorporating rap into much of his music which explains all the great collaborations featured in the entire album, but prepare for this track. You might think, “oh the landing, this should be soft, I’m sure the pilot knows what he’s doing..” sorry not sorry APASHE closes the album with plenty of hype to squeeze out your last bit of energy. Upon completing the listening of this album common side effects could include: exhaustion, disbelief, LITness, depression and need for more, belief you are now a gangstar (yes, gangstar not gangster) spike in adrenaline and all around satisfaction
