The internet nearly exploded when fans began to download a multitude of free music from a mysterious SoundCloud page, user478363530, a few days ago. Many have deduced that this account is somehow linked to the enigmatic figure, Aphex Twin. Though no one knows for sure, speculation suggests that Richard D. James was in fact, the shadowed uploader judging from the song titles, sounds, and different elements linked to his latest release.
Releasing Syro and Caustic Window late last year, as well as Computer Controlled Instruments Pt. 2 EP on the 23rd of this month, fans are happily overwhelmed by the new Aphex tunes after a 13 year silence. Although the original account no longer exists, a similar one titled user48736353001 has surfaced with some of the same songs (and more) from the earlier account.
Sure, no one can positively identify this account as being Aphex Twin himself or a fan that somehow obtained access to these files, but there is one thing we can be certain of: Richard definitely has a cavalcade of unreleased music somewhere. Originally, the songs featured in the account were unavailable for download. However, after a generous amount of internet buzz and a healthy following of over 50k followers, the songs have become free downloads again. New tracks will pop up on the page at random intervals, so snag them while you can and check out his latest EP at WARP to get your fix of Aphex tunes!
