Coachella weekend 2 ended on a rather humorous note last night as headlining indie band Arcade Fire fooled thousands of people into thinking Daft Punk made a surprise guest appearance during their set. Always one for a good joke, front man Win Butler brought out the alleged duo to play a hilariously slowed-down version of “Get Lucky.” As seen in the video below, the two clearly are not performing or DJing in any way.
Butler also asked everyone to thank “Paft Dunk” as they exited the stage. Despite the blatant trolling, many people were tricked and believed they witnessed a very rare Daft Punk cameo appearance. The duo apparently showed up at Duck Sauce’s closing set as well, telling everyone they would “see them next year.”
Rad, Daft Punk just showed up for a quick guest appearance during arcade fire’s set #coachella

Although the costumes of the fake French producers resembled their Grammy outfits, closer inspection reveals a certain lack of quality is missing when the two are compared. The Grammy costumes are also on display at the Grammy Museum and will most likely never be worn by Daft Punk again.
