In December, Armin Van Buuren held a series of meet & greets in certain cities in America (New York, Chicago, L.A.) in order to promote his upcoming Armin Only: Intense tour. The exposition and details about Armin Only: Intense were presented by Armin himself. Followed by a video his team had put together to portray to the dedicated fans what an Armin Only Tour entails.
After the video had played, Armin gave the press a chance to ask any question they wanted about the tour, along with other questions they had regarding any matter that was a hot topic for Armin at the time i.e., much of the media was intrigued by his recent Grammy nomination for the song “This is What it Feels Like” featuring Trevor Guthrie.
Lucky for me, I was able to ask Armin two questions, on behalf of White Raver Rafting, about his upcoming plans.
Me: Hi my name is Dee, from White Raver Rafting, and we were wondering what you plan on doing for the Chicago show that stands out from the past Armin Only shows you’ve already done in other cities?
Armin: Every Armin only show will be different. It’s a free-style DJ set. We have written specific software that makes it possible for the people in the front of house and backstage to see what the hell I’m doing with the music that I’m playing. And so, as explain, if a track like “Alone” starts running Laura Evans will see that I am playing the track and she will come on stage exactly at the right time. Uh, so I’m going to mix it up. Every show will be different. It depends on the request I get beforehand. It depends on the atmosphere, you know where I go with my sound. There is some stuff I want to do, but nothing is set in advanced. It’s going to be a minimum 5 hour show. The one I did in the Netherlands was 7 hours. It depends also on the curfew that I have. So you know I would like to go on as long as possible. So again to answer your question, I don’t know. It depends what tracks are hot in April. We’ll see. Again every show will be unique to the specific crowd. I hope that answers your question!
Now for the second question, I decided to ease the mood of the serious questions being asked and went for a silly one. Something to give Armin a little laugh while he is working.
Me: When you win your Grammy, who is the first person you are going to thank?
Armin: I don’t even dare of… you know I’m not even so far in… I mean I’ve been on the road for three weeks and i heard about the Grammy Nomination when I was in Italy and I still really can’t believe it. And ever since that moment since I was in Italy I’ve been non-stop working until I’m here right now. The most obvious answer, and that’s probably the right answer, is my wife. You know we have two little babies right now, and I’m touring the world and she is alone with these two children. So that would probably be the right answer, yes. But I would have to really think about it, because you know how many people have really supported me across the years and the list goes on and on. You know, you really don’t want to forget anyone, but I think my wife is the most important right now.
Meeting Armin felt like a dream. He was humble, appreciative of all of his fans, and just really a down to earth guy. It was clear that he loved his fans and was enjoying his time meeting them, just as much as we did meeting him.
Thanks to EDM America TV you are able to watch the 15 min Chicago meet and greet below. It provides you with the press conference and all the information regarding the upcoming tour! Enjoy!

Good blog! I really love how it is easy on my eyes and the data are well written. I am wondering how I could be notified whenever a new post has been made. I’ve subscribed to your RSS feed which must do the trick! Have a nice day!
What’s up, after reading this awesome piece of writing i am too happy to share my know-how here with
friends.
Hey very nice blog!
I was suggested this website by my cousin. I am not sure whether this post is written by him as nobody else know such detailed about my trouble. You’re wonderful! Thanks!
I believe what you posted was actually very reasonable. But, think
about this, what if yoou tyled a catchier post title?
I ain’t suggsting your content is not good., but what if you added a title that makes people
want more? I mean Armin Van Buuren on Upcoming Intense Tour
& Grammy Nominations [WRR Exclusive] is kinda boring.
You could peek at Yahoo’s front page and see how they
create news titles to grab viewers to click. You might
add a video or a pic or two to grab people interested about everything’ve written. In my opinion, it could make your
posts a little livelier.
Greetings, I do think your blog could possibly be having internet browser compatibility
issues. Whenever I look at your website in Safari, it looks fine however, if opening in Internet Explorer,
it’s goot some overlapping issues. I just wanted to provide you with a quick heads up!
Other than that, excellent site!
