One of my personal favorite up-and-coming producers right now, Artifakts, keeps the production spree coming with two recent releases of downtempo tracks, entitled “What We Loved” and “Growing”. I feel as though Artifakts is really beginning to find his niche and I think its only a matter of time before he starts blowing up. His smooth, rich hip-hop beats mixed with subtle yet very effective electronic elements makes him stand out from the pack. These songs are ultimate relaxation and the fact that he spits out a new release every few days or so is just another reason to hop on the Artifakts bandwagon.
“What We Loved” is a lackadaisical track, putting you in the mood to just lay around all day and be lazy. A crisp, rolling hip-hop beat keeps the track going as old-school jazz piano keys lay down a groovy and relaxing vibe. Funky echoing synths are added in and just adds to this songs already chilled-out vibe.
“Growing” is certainly more electronically infused, with a bit more upbeat drum roll but still very relaxing. Elongated synth keys play throughout the song, giving emotion to this song. Strings ripple towards the end for a really unique sound that just fits absolutely perfect. All this plus Artifakts unique sampling style, in which he sometimes uses what sounds like a retro TV reporter relaying information, yet works so well in his songs. Both of these songs are available for free download, scoop them up now and enjoy!
