BUKU Music & Art Project Artist Spotlight: Claude VonStroke [Song/Video]

The BUKU Music + Art Project just announced yesterday that Claude VonStroke would be joining their already massive lineup. Owner of the infamous Dirtybird and Mothership record labels, his own talents on the decks have made him a techno legend in the underground. Real name Barclay Crenshaw, this bird’s traveled the world twice before the next artist has even stepped out their front door.

Originally hailing from the city of Detroit, his musical influences seem to reflect his environment. A balanced mixture of minimal, funk, tech house, and avant-garde techno rule his groovy compositions. Debuting boldly with “Deep Throat” on Beware of the Bird, he marked his distinctive sound in the electronic music scene forever.

Additionally, Claude has released three heavy-hitting artist albums, a remix album, and several exclusive compilations in his career spanning over a decade. Usage of quirky samples and sounds have made VoneStroke a pioneer in his genre, as he continues to dominate the decks to this day. His label roster boasts some big time players including:  Justin Martin, Catz ‘n Dogz, Eats Everything, J.Philip, and Kill Frenzy.
