Autograf and D.V.S* Steal the Show at Empire in Austin [Event Reviews]

Autograf is making waves this summer with tour dates all across the US including major festival stops. The group has been producing tons of tropical and chill music, which is certainly fitting for this summer’s vibe. Easily one of the best breakthrough artists of 2014-2015, Autograf delivers an artistic and fan-oriented live show. RaverRafting recently saw Autograf at Electric Forest, so when we saw they were coming to Austin, we had to make it.

The shows at Empire Control and Garage Room never cease to amaze us with the diverse crowd, 360 immersive visuals, and a huge outdoor hang area with craft vendors and opening DJs. When you hit up Empire, you’re in for more of a festival vibe rather than a show vibe.

D.V.S*, Austin native and seasoned festival performer started the Tropical Disco Show with some of his best tracks. Shredding it on electric guitar and even showcasing his friend on sax and clarinet, D.V.S* proved to be one of Austin’s best live acts. Paired with electronic mixing and live instrumentation, D.V.S* set the tone for a night of tropical summer jams.

Autograf played all of their best tracks along with some unheard new tunes and remixes. Their seamless transitions between songs proved that these guys are well-trained musicians. The music never stopped and the crowd danced the night away. Autograf kept the energy up with hits like “Rhythm of the Night,” “Tennis Court,” and “Burning Gold” as well as originals like “Dream” and even experimental tunes to always keep us on our feet.

After a show like this at Empire, we can safely stay that Autograf is here to stay and they are helping to pave the way for live instrumentational jams. Autograf has a few shows left as they close out their summer festival season, so if you haven’t seen them yet, now is the time to! As the season closes, we can’t wait for Autograf to hit the studio and produce more dance-worthy tracks.
