After previewing his brand new material at Ultra Music Festival and dropping a promo mix on SoundCloud, Avicii’s new musical visions set the electronic dance music community into a frenzy. He seems to be heading a movement based on shattering genre boundaries and the best example of his efforts so far is his record “Wake Me Up” featuring Aloe Blacc.
I know you’ve heard it, who hasn’t? It’s been a big topic of conversation on our website along with many others across the internet. I happen to really enjoy “Wake Me Up”, I’m not a fan of country, but the risk that was taken by infusing country and electronic dance music elements makes it extra appealing – at least to me. In my eyes this is the best record that Avicii has ever produced.
In an article composed by Billboard.com’s Jacob Schulman, we learned that Avicii’s brand new album, titled “#TRUE”, will be released sometime in September on Ash Pournouri’s PRMD Music and Island Records. While the lead single, “Wake Me Up”, is set to drop June 25th.
