Axwell‘s set was one of the most memorable to grace the main stage Electric Zoo. This week, two outstanding tracks from those magical two hours have been released on Beatport. And, as you’ll notice above, the accompanying artwork is just as stunning.
First, The Aston Shuffle vs. Tommy Trash ‘Sunrise (Won’t Get Lost Again)’ circles back to Tommy’s signature style – the one that made his remix of ‘Ladi Dadi‘ so massive. Although ‘Won’t Get Lost’ has already made waves on the charts in Australia, the touch of one of house music’s hottest producers transforms it into a whole new track that is nothing short of a banger. Trash intensifies the original by tearing the synthesized vocals from a cheeky, retro style and building in a melodic waterfall with a brooding sound. This track is the epitome of what I expect from Tommy Trash and Knife Party‘s Haunted House tour that will be tearing up New York, Chicago, Denver, Oakland, and LA around Halloween. The track is available on Beatport.
I sent the second Axtone release, Dubvision‘s remix of Discopolis’ ‘Committed to Sparkle Motion,’ to a friend of mine in France. In his broken English, he gave this review: “It is a club music. It is very emotional.” This is true. And I’ll add that this is not just club music; it’s a song you’ll want to listen to at all hours of the day. Although it highly resembles their recent song ‘All By Myself‘, ‘Sparkle Motion’ has a unique, intoxicating quality that stems from its passionate vocals and thrashing break. Dubvision once again shows off their ability to envelope a soothing chorus in a euphoric surge of beats. The song title, by the way, is a reference to the movie Donnie Darko. Purchase this tune on Beatport.
