Backwoods Camping & Music Festival was on point last year, the fest was one of the newest community fest vibes out there and pulled together some of the dopest corners of bass music all into one solid and euphoric experience, kind of like Forest when it first started. If unfamiliar, Backwoods was labeled “the secret of the midwest” and they lived up to their name, last year’s coverage chronicles the build up to the epic three days.
Yet, there’s always room for improvement. And Backwoods is taking the proactive approach.
Late last year Backwoods uploaded a list of things that they had edited, improved, or got rid of, just to show fans that they come first and that this is the type of always innovating, always improving festival you can rely on.
Backwoods has dropped the lineup to their 2016 Oklahoma journey. Keeping two of the biggest headliners spots hidden, but boasting an extremely well-curated blend of glitch, future, jam, chill, and bass that matches the vibe and atmosphere well. If you didn’t think last year’s remix was fire, think again, from Prince Fox, to Solstis, to Tritonal; this lineup is a great mix of big and small guys all framed within a wide, but relevant bass music spectrum.
Backwoods had tons of cool things last year, like one-of-a-kind, brand-new stages, workshops, and just lots of stuff to do in general. The add-ons made the festival seem like a city in the woods, with hustle and bustle going on and activities to pursue and participate in, rather than a linear festival with just food and shops to visit.
Actions speak louder than words, and Backwoods Camping and Music Festival has proven that 2016 will blow our music minds as well as forget aspects people didn’t like and gave their feedback on, while advancing and moving forward in areas that fans endorsed. Doesn’t get much better than that.
