Monday evening, April 22nd, a memorial service honoring Frankie Knuckles took place on Chicago’s South Side. Shortly after, news broke that President Barack Obama and the First Lady wrote a letter to the Chicago legends family.
In related news, late last week Elton John announced that he has established a charity fund for Knuckles. That was after Def Jam stated that they’re working on Frankie Knuckles t-shirts, to be sold with proceeds going to charity.
We’ve seen a lot of tributes over the last few weeks. It’s wonderful to watch the electronic community reflect and honor a man who was extremely influential to the music we love.
