The Bare Necessities made its return to Zydeco in Birmingham, AL last weekend on July 9 with numerous special guests including Squnto, Moglee, TripXudio, Mendoza and Black Carl. The night began as Black Carl took the stage by storm and threw down some original tracks which made the crowd go wild. The sea of people grew as Carl continued to dominate the tables throughout the entirety of his set until the end, which he closed with a mashup of “Wasteland” by Phiso and the Stybey remix of “Yasuo” by Bommer x Crowell.
Mendoza was up next, and he played from beginning to end with enthusiasm as he destroyed the stage. The crowd loved his deep wubs and demanded more until the end of his set. Mendoza’s heavy dubstep vibrated through the walls of Zydeco like an earthquake. Mendoza hyped up the crowd for TripXudio, who was up next.
TripXudio played an amazing set, incorporating some old, well-known tracks as well as some new, unreleased tracks. He threw down for an entire hour, with no down-time during his set. Closing out his set with an unreleased track called “Can’t Feel Good”, the crowd wasn’t ready for his set to be over just yet, but it was full of surprises, and they were happy for that.
Moglee took the stage after TripXudio, and his set was nothing short of breathtaking. He played original tracks, drawing in the crowd with his heavy bass. Moglee never disappoints his fans when he is added to a lineup, and last weekend was no exception. The multitude of people in Zydeco for Moglee’s set were not disappointed by what he had in store.
Last, but certainly not least, Squnto ended the night with a bang. His set was highly anticipated by the attendees, and he wilded out. He played his famous song “Wall of Death”, which had the crowd lose themselves. Squnto’s set was a magical end to the evening, and Birmingham can’t wait for his return.
The Bare Necessities hosted a wonderful event last weekend and will surely host more bass-filled events in the future. If you missed out last weekend, be sure not to miss the next one coming up soon!
