Today Lorin Ashton, otherwise known as the all-mighty Bassnectar, let go a special edit of his newest single “Take You Down”, featuring his original version of the song along with a West Coast Lo Fi remix included in the preview. Like some crazy fusion of moombah, trap, and future bass, this track hits hard and sends the eardrums on a heavenly journey. The entire ‘Take You Down’ EP will be available via iTunes September 24, featuring three other songs and the “Take You Down” remix. Stream below, and enjoy!
“Take You Down” was put together as a summertime jam… something deep and lush and euphoric. I started it while I was on vacation, and the general theme is basically falling in love and that slow-motion feeling you get when you plunge backwards into something overwhelming, but never hit the ground.
With pulsing chords, emotive synths, and heavy 808s, it’s a sonic follow-up to “Timestretch”, and I let West Coast Lo Fi huck together a remix, also featured in this Special Edit. – Lorin Ashton via Soundcloud
