“Beat Girl: The Movie” follows 21-year-old Heather who’s mother passes away and her dreams of becoming a professional pianist and training at the Julliard School are shattered. She then finds a boy named Toby and he introduces her to the world of DJ-ing and dance music.
Predictably Heather is then torn between dance music and piano, all while dealing with love problems and reconnecting with her estranged father. Apparently though, the storyline isn’t the only thing that’s pathetic about this movie.
Here’s a not so subtle review from FlickeringMyth.com,
Beat Girl will have you gnawing the back of your hand hoping that this is a dark comedy and some sort of subtle joke will happen, but I’m sorry to say it never happens. Not one actor in this film is worth of the title ‘Actor’ if they use this on their CV.
You’ll hate Beat Girl, you really will. I deserve some sort of Pride of Britain award for keeping you from watching this film.
The Beat Girl 2013 Trailer
UK viewers can see the film now, while U.S. residents will have to wait for “Beat Girl” to show up on Hulu May, 29th.
Maybe America isn’t the only one responsible for “killing EDM”.
