Today, Beats Antique released a teaser (Cat Skillz) from their upcoming album “ELEKTRAFONE” which is expected to drop on 10/4. I am uber excited for the album and extremely happy that it will be released before the 2 nighter in Atlanta with Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, and Big Gigantic.
For those of you unfamiliar with Beats Antique, here is a little summary:
- They carry a middle-eastern/ tribal vibe in each jam derived from classical training and African ventures
- The trio includes David Sartori, Tommy Cappell, and the beautiful bass drumming, belly dancing Zoe Jakes (See Below)
- They bring an energy to live performances that is second to none. Believe me, we saw them at Hangout Fest and were blown away.
- Think brass bands, glitch, string quartets, and dubstep
This single, Cat Skillz, has a heavy influence of big band brass along with the eerie synth we have all come to love . While listening, imagine a talented belly dance to go along with it because chances are, if its live, that is what you will get with this banger. Listen, enjoy, check out the picture of Zoe, and last but not least; GO SEE THIS TRIO LIVE!
