In the spirit of the final Grateful Dead shows this weekend in Chicago, Beats Antique has teamed up with Clint Maedgen of Preservation Hall Jazz Band to release an incredible cover of the Dead’s classic tune, “New Speedway Boogie.” Maedgen’s contribution on vocals and sax bring the cover to life, and certainly pay respectful tribute to the genre-shaping, trailblazing, legends that are the Grateful Dead.
Like the rest of the world, you’re probably needing a miracle if you’re trying to get into Solider Field for the “Fare Thee Well” shows this July 3-5. However, tickets are still available to Beats Antique and Thievery Corporation’s “The Music Never Stopped” show at the Aragon Ballroom tonight, July 2.
