Right off the bat it’s the seemingly Burial-influenced drums that set the tone with Bell and Robes new single “Jackal and the Moon.” The mid-tempo, uniquely angled single falls into the same wavelength as artists like Beats Antique and Clozee, displaying a dash of mysterious-spritiualism that speak to the soul.
Bells and Robes have their feet wet in the Atlanta scene and are spreading their wings through the southeast region, which historically has embraced genres like down-tempo and experimental bass. Bells and Robes isn’t quite melancholy, but certainly isn’t upbeat or empowering either, Bells and Robes are exploring a fascinating hybrid area somewhere in-between.
