Above & Beyond fans ‘all over the world’ can once again unite under another album. Although their acoustic project is nearly a polar opposite of their electronic work, it still hits you right in the feels. The accented vocals and incorporation of piano, guitar, and drums bring the hearty tracks to a new level. The album is chock-full with some of our favorite Above & Beyond songs done by an array of vocalists. The 13 track album showcases Above & Beyond’s talents for producing any type of music.
Recently wrapping up their highly anticipated acoustic tour, this is the perfect gift to keep the acoustic feels flowing hard. After their outstanding NYC performance, Above & Beyond and the crew headed to California and finally Hawaii to close it out. Their second acoustic album was released just this morning for stream and download and can be found here. On this album, we see performances from artists like Justine Suissia, Natalie Holmes, Alex Vargas, and Zoe Johnston.
The most surprising part of their newest acoustic album? Richard Bedford. Known for providing vocals on some of Above & Beyond’s most iconic tracks, the singer provides vocals for “On My Way To Heaven” (and also sings partly on Tony’s debut track). This is the only track Bedford sings for and it’s fantastic to hear his voice on an acoustic version. Ordinary fans may not make such a big deal out of this, but this marks Bedford’s first and only acoustic song. Having not toured with them on their first or second acoustic projects, this leaves hope he could possibly have work in Acoustic III.
We see Oceanlab’s Justine Suissia sing on tracks like “Alchemy”, and “Another Chance”. Longtime collaborator and star of their We Are All We Need album, Zoe Johnston goes to provide vocals for tracks like “We Are All We Need”, “Peace of Mind”, and “Hello”. You will also hear Alex Vargas’ outstanding voice on songs like “Sticky Fingers” and “Blue Sky Action”. Natalie Holmes makes her debut performance on “Counting Down The Days/Liquid Love”, which is our personal favorite off the album. Also featured on the album is “Black Room Boy”, which is an iconic song as its vocals are provided by Tony McGuinness and Richard Bedford. This acoustic album is the perfect way to start your friday and prepare for the weekend. We’re in love with this latest release and you can find their full album here.
