Big Dub Festival Artist Spotlight: CloZee

Big Dub Festival has always been known to book a wide variety of artists, even though their focus often lies on heavy dubstep.  This year, one artist who is primed to bring alternative vibes to the festival is CloZee.  This unique performer has been blowing up the dance music world in the past few years with her masterful blend of electronic elements and world music, as well as her seamless and energetic live sets.  Here are just a few examples of what to expect when she takes the stage within the magical woods of Four Quarters Farm.

Earlier this year CloZee released her newest EP, which is even more experimental and diverse than her last.  Out on Gravitas Recordings, Harmony somehow maintains a relaxed vibe, while also hitting the listener with irresistibly thick and powerful basslines.  Throughout the album you will hear everything from worldly chants, to hair raising violin playing.  Hearing this music surrounded by the beautiful nature of Big Dub is sure to be a fulfilling treat!

This collaboration with Gravitas head Psymbionic is one of the most therapeutic songs that either artist have put out.  Hypnotic atomspheres give way to a drop that is subtle but powerful.  As the song progresses the theme is expanded on, creating an ever changing tune that really lets the mind run wild.  This tune’s thick sound design will be greatly emphasized by the clean and powerful speaker system that Big Dub uses.

Gravitas Recordings’ Infuse series was created to continually pump out stunning singles for our listening pleasure.  CloZee’s latest contribution features the breathtaking vocals of Gravitas singer Cristina Soto, who has also been heard on tunes with Psymbionic, Of The Trees, and more.  Together the two women crafted a captivating musical experience that reaches deep down, touching your soul.  It’ll be electrifying to watch the compact crowd of the pavilion stage come together for this magical music.

Of course, in any CloZee set you’re sure to hear some tunes from her hip-hop infused side project with Scarfinger, CloZinger.  Their recent remix of the RJD2’s song “Ghostwriter” brings the classic tune into the modern era, thickening it up with a new bassline, among other electronic elements.  We can’t imagine missing out on hearing such a massive tune dropped within a crowd of some of the most enthusiastic ravers around.
