Billy Van & Danny Olson have teamed up to take a new approach when producing electronic music. Billy Van is well versed in electronic production while Danny Olson understands orchestral composition. Together they’ve produced the “Convergence” EP, which consists of six tunes. “Titan March,” “Rise,” “Convergence,” “Hat Trick,” “Launch Point” and “Cumulus” work effortlessly together in an effort to craft an experience like none other.
Here’s what Olson had to say about their project:
The title track especially is fucking awesome, you’ll love it. Next clarity!? Take a listen at this private link and let me know what you think, but don’t share please!!
“When collaborating to produce this album, Billy and I tried our best to be unaffected by the current trends in the music world. Coming from vastly different musical backgrounds, we were both uncertain of the outcome that combining our talents would result in.
To this affect, convergence represented, quite literally, bringing sounds together from vastly different points so that they would eventually meet and become a solid sonic element.
From across the country and also in the same room, we worked for months to create something that would genuinely blow our audience away, and we think we’ve accomplished just that.” – Danny Olson (via SoundCloud)
The “Convergence” EP is a part of Billy Van’s “A Year of Songs” project, which WhiteRaverRafting believes will change the production game this year. If you’re interested in behind the scenes content visit Billy Van’s tumblr, we highly encourage it.
