Black Gummy is one of the newest signees to Deadmau5’s mau5trap label. He’s been making his mark on the scene through his dark and gritty sound that has been captivating fans. His music sounds something similar to fellow mau5trap artist, Rezz. Both artists caught the eyes of Deadmau5 (Joel Zimmerman) and have since been at the forefront of the mau5trap label. In addition, both artists have EPs coming out right around the same time to be released exclusively on Zimmerman’s label. Rezz’s “Something Wrong Here” EP will be released on October 7th while Black Gummy’s “Impactor” EP was released just today.
Gummy remains fairly anonymous in his productions and not much is known about the artist. His Soundcloud profile reads in Latin, “In perpetuum, salutem in omnibus locis; In omni loco, in omni tempore.” Which translates to “Forever, a prey in all places, in every place, at all times.” Gummy’s four track Impactor EP perfectly suits his already ominous and mysterious background as an artist. Each track is different in its own way, but all still contain Gummy’s signature sound. This is Gummy’s second EP on the mau5trap label and we couldn’t be more in love with it.
