Shoreditch club XOYO welcomes The Black Madonna back as a resident for every Friday in April, May and June. Londoners should count themselves lucky as the dance music veteran, otherwise known as Marea Vierge-Noire, will play us into the summer before her performance at Sunfall Festival on Saturday 12th August this year. Presenting We Still Believe for thirteen weeks, The Black Madonna will take us through her transformation in the industry and the evolution of synthesiser music.
The Black Madonna will play three all night long shows but will be joined by the likes of Derrick Carter, Ellen Allien and HAAi to name a few. Her most recent release ‘He Is the Voice I Hear’ inspired by classical music attempts to portray this evolution and is a stark contrast to 2013’s Lady of Sorrows two-track synth EP, with ‘A Jealous Heart Never Rests’ and ‘We Can Never Be Apart’.
