Bo Burnham is one of the youngest and most talented entertainers of our generation. At just 23 years old the American comedian, singer-songwriter, musician, actor, and Internet celebrity has wow’d and stunned millions of people with hour-long performances across the United States which feature skits that poke fun at society. His most popular recorded performance, titled “what.,” is now available in full on Netflix and YouTube.
Toward the end of “what.” Burnham bashes the modern-day love song. He starts by describing how love songs were once beautiful, but now host nothing but vague descriptions and simple, uninteresting chorus’. Bo’s five-minute skit is hilarious, but sadly true. After a few laughs you’ll probably be able to directly relate some of what he says in his love song directly to the mainstream portion of electronic dance music scene.
